EMERGE, an abstract painting, depicts the resurgence of colours in our lives following the sanitized and inward focused period during the peak of COVID. The white symbolizes the sanitized and secluded life at that time. The return of normalcy, after an extended period, is represented by the vibrant array of colours; pushing aside the sanitised white and bringing a burst of life back into our existence.

The Pond 7 - Lotus” is part of a series of paintings. Lotus and Water Lilies are two of my favourite flowers. There is a pond near my home and every time i walk past the pond, the beauty of the lotuses and water lilies in bloom always mesmerizes me. The idea that something so beautiful emerges from muddied waters is so hopeful and positive. I like that.

BIO
Artist. Aparna My formal education is in graphic design, art and illustration. I have professional experience in e- commerce, web design, usability, and digital art in India and Singapore. My heart lies in the world of creation, drawing, and painting, with a special place for the joy and happiness I find in the painting process. Nature, textures, colours, and the interplay of various hues and patterns are my muses, leaving a profound mark on my creations. STATEMENT My artistic journey is marked by an insatiable curiosity and a willingness to experiment with a wide array of mediums and tools. I select the medium that best complements the subject or theme, continually expanding my artistic horizons. My commitment to growth is evident in my pursuit of various courses, including Western Abstract and Ceramics courses at NAFA. I truly believe there is no age limit to learning and I live by that belief. I enjoy exploring a range of styles, from figurative to semi-abstract and abstract. I like exploring various textures and their interactions with colours. My art process can be spontaneous or planned and many a times a mix of both. My venture into abstract art has opened up new dimensions of artistic expression and exploration. I am drawn to visual and tactile properties of various materials and I like to put them together and observe how they interact. I look forward to sharing my artworks with the world as I continue to evolve as an artist. |
