ARTWORK
B L I S S
30 x 30 inch | Oil on canvas
Synopsis = I had always admired flowers painted especially by the Dutch masters. This time, I was inspired by this particular work by Jan Frans van Dael - Flowers Still Life on a marble ledge. It's interesting to the eye and I felt an inner joy and bliss whenever I see this, and hope the viewer feels the same way too...A mixture of various flowers in a delicious mix of colors and textures brings out their 'fragrance' to the soul.

https://www.instagram.com/lowbelinda/ What started as a hobby has evolved since I started painting toward the end of 2011 to something that I am passionate about. I had no formal training in the arts in school. Due to an illness earlier in 2020 amidst the covid-19 pandemic, I told myself that I should not be deterred by illness or even age to stop doing what I love. I feel I should follow through the purpose in my life and it is this force that drove me to keep going on. For painting on canvases = 14 years and murals = 12 years to date My style - Post impressionistic, expressionistic and sometimes veering toward realism. My forte lies in (but not limited to) portraiture, landscapes, cityscapes/architecture, seascapes. I love to use bold colors and strong brushstrokes showing intense emotions exuding and transcending these to the viewer. I want to make a contribution by sharing with society as best I can and in whatever opportunities that lie ahead. I feel I have achieved and fulfilled that purpose when a piece of myself goes to somewhere or someone's home in that painting. The journey continues and moves toward what seems exciting times...
