ABOUT ARTIST
Mr Chia Chor Hua is a Singaporean and freelance fulltime visual artist. He retired from Civil Service in 2017 after working for more than 40 years. He developed is interest in art when he was a child. His talent and artworks were noticed when he was in primary school: he would happily volunteer to decorate the school premises with artworks during school holidays when requested. Most of his artworks were influenced and inspired by the experience and knowledge gained from many years of living in the kampung (village) during his childhood and teenage years. Coming from a poor family, he could not full fill his ambition to become an artist when young. He started to paint seriously in 1997. Over the year he has developed quite a when unique technique thru bold and long brush strokes and the matching colours to emphasize its interconnectivity, values and perspectives. The themes and topics of his master pieces are always associated with traditions, beliefs and daily activities. He hoped his artworks will inspire, motivate and bring happiness and joy to people.
