Jungle
152cm by 121cm| Acrylics and mixed media on canvas.
In this chaotic and wild jungle at night, the wanderer is illuminated by a blue sky, her shadow marking the journey behind her, while her two ethereal companions guide her alongside. This artwork displays a more complicated technique. The female figure stands firmly but calmly in the midst of a wild jungle, with her destiny (two hazes) taking her on to the next chapter whilst being energised by the power (red orb) outside of the physical realm. The painting is still very fitting of the “Women empowerment” theme but in a less obvious way for a viewer who didn’t read the description and isn’t familiar with the collection. This painting needs to be seen in person to be judged as its much more impactful in a large size.

https://www.instagram.com/diarlar/ Based in Singapore for over four years, I bring a unique artistic perspective shaped by my journey from the republic of Buryatia in Russia to the UK, Spain, Canada, and Australia. I grew up in Buryatia — a land known for its sweeping landscapes and artistic traditions rooted in Buddhism. There, I developed a profound connection to nature as well as a devotion to bold expressive palette. Each canvas I create tells a layered narrative, enriched with natural textures evoking wood grain, malachite, and other elements that ground my art in a tactile, sensory experience. The vivid reds in my paintings serve as a visual pulse, symbolizing the electric energy driving us—a reminder of life’s intensity and interconnectedness. In my current collection which I started in Singapore in August 2024, I feature a female figure in stark contrast as a reminder of her otherworldliness. I explore her creation, her arrival and exploration throughout the collection inviting viewers to follow her journey. |
