ABOUT ARTIST
As Picasso said; “Every child is an artist, the problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” As far as I remember Art was my solace in my childhood and adolescence period. However life takes its own course and I became an IT professional working for multinational companies. Now after nearly decade of working, I have gone back to my first love, of painting. As an emerging artist, I work hard to develop paintings that speak both to me and others about the beauty that exists in world. Part of the process before I begin painting any subject matter is to read as much as I can about the specific subject matter I am about to recreate on my canvas. I do not merely want to capture the image with my brushes; rather, with careful, colorful strokes, I try to give life onto my canvas. I reinitiated my art practice under a renowned artist from Singapore whom I seen exhibiting while randomly walking in an art exhibition in Singapore. I quickly came under his wings and am being trained hard to spread my own wings, this made me to Constantly search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself and the world I live in. I do not want to limit myself to one medium, style or concept. Inspiration and ideas change, knowledge changes. Each piece I create is simultaneously is an extension from my beginning; India(Kolkata) where I was born and educated. I m a strong believer of the saying; ‘Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.’ I have participated in the following group exhibitions in Singapore and in India : 1. 2017: 17 May, Ooty Art Show, @HADP Building, Ooty 2. 2017: Feb 11-25, Artist Conclave Foundation, @The Westin Place, Chennai 3. 2017 : Feb 23-15, TATINIS, @The Art House, Singapore 4. 2017: Jan 24-31 ,ARTITUDE, @ART HOUZ, Chennai 5. 2016: Gnani Arts ,Victory Icon: Contemporary Ganesha Art ,@ Visual Arts Centre Singapore. 6. 2016: Feb 15, Art Show, @Singapore |
