Marie Joelle started drawing as a hobby in 2017. Over the past year, she has explored various sketching locations in Singapore with fellow urban sketchers and discovered the richness of the Singapore culture and scene. She translates everything that captures her attention into one big story made up of black lines on white paper, with only a limited use of colors. There is always a lot to see in her artworks.

The artwork tells the story of a Singaporean grandfather's home. It reveals a collection of vintage objects. In the afternoon, while the hornbill is perched on the tree outside, Ah-Gong will usually have kaya toast and a kopi siu dai in the company of his pet rooster.
