ABOUT METTA
Metta Welfare Association (Metta), the welfare arm of Golden Pagoda Buddhist Temple, was founded in 1992 by Venerable Shi Fa Zhao, Abbot of the Golden Pagoda Buddhist Temple and founding Abbot and President of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. Metta plays a pivotal role in realising its mission at nine welfare centres island wide, serving 1,150 beneficiaries from a wide spectrum of ages with special needs and disability. Metta takes pride in offering a comprehensive range of services to ensure proper care, transcending racial and religious barriers to enhance beneficiaries’ quality of life. Dedicated to the active promotion of humanitarian causes, Metta initiates, assists and organises a wide range of community projects. About Arts@Metta Metta actively seeks to increase employment opportunities for Metta School graduates through comprehensive training and development with Metta Alumni. The Alumni comprises of Arts@Metta and Metta Café. Arts@Metta was setup in 2007 to congregate former Metta School graduates who are keen to further their mastery in visual arts, batik painting, and pottery while empowering them with life skills that promote integration, independence and employment. |
