ABOUT ARTIST
Naved hashmi
https://www.instagram.com/nghashmiart/ I am a self taught artist originally from Pakistan. I have been painting since the last eight years, weaving stories with a palette of diverse mediums: oil paints, charcoal and gold foil. My artistic forte lies in crafting grandiose masterpieces, whose themes and magnitude ensnare the beholder's imagination. My primal source of inspiration is Urdu poetry and South Asian spiritual melodies which I translate into a symphony of visual artistry. I also specialize in creating photo realistic portraits using charcoal and oil paints mostly based on ethnic themes rooted in South Asian culture. In its essence, my art is a spiritual voyage, beckoning viewers to commence their own quest for inner enlightenment. Each stroke, each shade, and each form offers a passage into the profound and invites contemplation on the enigma of existence. |
ARTWORK
Basant Size: 90cm x 120cm Medium: Charcoal and Oil Paint Basant is an Urdu word used literally for the colour yellow/orange which is a symbol of happiness. It is also the name of a festival of spring in the South Asian Subcontinent. The festive colour of the turban evokes a feeling of celebration and festivity. The turban is tied in a typical Rajhstan style known both for flowing loose fabric as well as vibrant colours reminiscent of the festive season. |
