Rai Sinha is primarily a figure and portrait artist and having lived in South Africa for a long time, she often picks up African faces as her subjects. But having been born and brought up in India, the Indian heritage is no less important to her. Here she has portrayed a rural Indian woman sitting under the blazing sun. The bright yellow background adds to the Indian ethnic colours that makes the land so vibrant and colourful.
