BIO
Artist’s Statement: I draw inspiration from nature and traditional Chinese ceramics, reinterpreting them in ingenious ways. Through the precision of my paint strokes, benevolent dragons and phoenixes take flight and swirl around the luminous vessels that I create. I explore and develop new methods in glaze tempering and firing combinations. Artist’s Biography: Since young, Bee Heo loves and enjoys drawing. Upon graduation from school, she joined Ming Village Ceramics, Singapore, and became the latter’s first drawing artist, specialising in cobalt drawings of dragons and phoenixes. Together with her husband, Master Potter Lim Kim Hui, they founded Ceramic House. A Master Potter herself, Bee Heo has since then extended her pottery journey into teaching and imparting her skills on, not forgetting to explore new and innovative techniques of clay creation. |
