BIO
Tran Luu Hau was born in 1928 in Hanoi and graduated from the Resistance Fine Arts School (1950-1953), taught by To Ngoc Van himself. He later graduated from the Moscow Fine Arts Academy (1960). He was one of the prominent artists of Vietnamese art in the 80s and 90s, with contributions in calligraphy and vision in painting. His paintings have vivid colors, strong strokes, and natural native shades of red, white, and ocean blue straight from moments of inspiration. His landscapes and objects sometimes follow flowing curves, sometimes bursting into a realm of emotions and colors, where it's hard to distinguish between scenes and colors in the painting. His artworks have faint lines of mountains, wrinkles of houses, foliage, and tree trunks with some hazy strokes that hold the reality together. His creations are profound and full of intriguing meanings, inviting the viewers to a feast of fine arts.His artworks have appeared in numerous international exhibitions, museums, auctions, and important collections in Vietnam and other countries.
